TOP4HoneyChains - Smart Honey Value Chain International Cooperation Project Opening Meeting

Kadir Has University Management Information Systems department faculty member Assoc. Dr. The opening meeting of the international cooperation project titled TOP4HoneyChains – Trustable and Sustainable Open Platform for Smart Honey Value Chains, coordinated by Mehmet Nafiz Aydın and supported by ERA-NET COFUND (ICT-AGRI-FOOD), was held on 19 October 2023 at Kadir Has University Cibali campus.

In the project, Kadir Has University and Işık University, Beekeeping Research Institute (Turkey), Instituto Nacional de Tecnologia Agropecuaria (Argentina), NEXCO S.A. (Argentina), Cooperativa Agrop. y Apicola Norte Grande Ltda. (Argentina), Alimentos Naturales Natural Foods S.A. (Argentina), University of Economics in Katowice (Poland) and Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (Latvia) were partners.

The TOP4HoneyChains Online Workshop took place on April 25, 2024, via Zoom, bringing together researchers and experts in the honey supply chain industry. Funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020 program, the event discussed the project’s progress, challenges, and future directions. Participants from various countries and expertise areas attended, ensuring a diverse and collaborative effort. The workshop featured sessions on different work packages, covering data collection methods, stakeholder needs, and data ecosystem configurations. Key presentations included analyses of use cases in Poland and the smart honey value chain in Argentina. The workshop facilitated knowledge exchange and collaborative planning, emphasizing stakeholder engagement and data-driven insights to enhance honey supply chain transparency and efficiency.
